Virus Removal

Depending on the nature of the virus or malware that has infected your computer the time taken to remove the virus and return you computer to its full health can vary. In some cases a single computer or laptop can harbour a number of different types of virus simultaneously. So viruses are specifically designed to evade antivirus by switching off your antivirus software and your windows updates. However, we have dealt with many of types of virus and are fully capable of ridding your computer of these infections. The normal routine would be to confirm that your computer or laptop has a virus and then estimate the time taken to remove the virus and repair the damage. If you have what we would deem to be a minor virus infection then we would normally deal with it on site or remotely and have your computer or laptop back to full health within the hour. For more severe infections we would recommend bringing the computer to our Dublin based workshop and repairing it there as it may require a more lengthy intervention.

If you think your computer or laptop has a virus or spyware infection disconnect it from your broadband router and/or switch it off if possible as this will stop the virus from spreading to other computers, laptops or devices. If the virus or spyware is also designed to look for your credit card or banking details it will not be able to do so or send the details while disconnected from the internet.

A second type of undesirable software to be found on personal computers is so-called Adware. Adware is a type of software whose purpose it is to spam the user with adverts for particular products or services.
